Background
The America’s Cup is the oldest known trophy in international sports and the trophy itself is named after the New York Yacht Club's own yacht America which first won the cup in 1851. Over the next 126 years, the New York Yacht Club would successfully defend the cup 24 times attributing to the longest reign in professional sports. Currently the cup is held by the Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron. Armed with the right team and innovative technology, we’re not just racing to bring
the Cup back to America,we’re racing to bring American yachting back to the Cup.
Meet the AC75
Innovation is an America's cup tradition. The AC75 is a hi-tech carbon fiber construction, with a foiling monohull and sustainable technology to 'trickle down' to other sailing classes and yachts. The watercraft masterpiece is capable of speeds faster than 40 knots.
